Dr. Deena Kuempel– Periodontist

As a native of Vinton, IA she graduated from the Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo and practiced for 12 years as a Dental Hygienist. During that time, she developed a strong interest in periodontal surgery, which led her to further her education. Dr. Kuempel graduated from the University of Iowa Dental School in 1995, and completed her Periodontal Residency at the University of Iowa in 1998. She has won undergraduate research awards and graduate periodontics awards. Dr. Kuempel received her Board Certification in May 1999. She started her own Periodontics practice in December 1998 and joined Cedar Rapids Periodontics on July 1, 2023 when her practice was acquired.

Sheena – Certified Dental Assistant

Sheena grew up in Amana, IA and completed her dental assisting training through the Kirkwood assisting program. After becoming a registered and certified dental assistant, Sheena worked at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry for 12 years. Sheena loves traveling with her husband and taking their children Miles and Giuliana on new adventures.

Ladonna – Dental Assistant

Linda has been in the dental field for over 40 years. For the past 21 years, she has worked at the front desk. She also has experience as a hygienist and an expanded duty dental assistant. Linda has lived in Cedar Rapids for 21 years and enjoys time with her family and friends, reading, and her two cats.
